Panic Attacks Symptoms

 

Panic attacks symptoms can be said to a symptom of an anxiety disorder, an overwhelmed condition or reaction to fear. Panic attacks can be frightening but they are not said to be very harmful to the body. And these are dependent on various events; any such event can “trigger” a panic attack. Panic attacks are sudden in nature; they reach their peak within 10 minutes, and are almost over in 30 minutes. Duration of Panic attacks can be as short as 15 seconds or they can be repetitive in nature, lasting for long durations, even hours. Those who experience a panic attack for the first time fear that they are having a heart attack. During a panic attack, the fear response is out of proportion for the situation, which often is not threatening. Eventually the person with panic disorder syndrome develops a fear of having another panic attack. This feeling can affect daily life of the person. Overcoming a panic attacks is very difficult. Therapies and Medications unfortunately are not very effective they address the symptoms only instead of targeting the root cause of the problem. Almost everyone in their lifetime experience anxiety and panic at certain situations. It’s a normal, natural response to a dangerous or stressful situation.

Panic attacks symptoms includes some typical features:
1. A sense of loosing it or death.
2. Increased heart rate.
3. Sweating.
4. Shortness of breath.
5. Hyperventilation
6. Chills or hot flashes
7. Abdominal cramping
8. Chest pain
9. Headache
10. Dizziness
11. Faintness
12. Tightness in your throat
13. Trouble swallowing


The Prominent Panic attacks symptoms:-

1. Phobias (fear):-
Panic attacks generally develop due to irrational fears called phobiasand it is during this attack that they try to avoid their fearsuch a situation further triggers a dread of future panic attacks.

2. Derealization:
This is a condition in which the teens tend to feel that they are not real or they are operating in a dreamlike situation.

3. Cognitive Symptoms:
These are symptoms observed in younger children who tend to think a lot, this can be observed by their decreasing school attendance, declining grades & their behavior such as avoiding separation from parents.

4. Palpitations or fast heart rate:
As the body feels a sudeen jerk due to the attack the pumping action of the heart increases thus enhancing the palpitation.As a result of which gradually the heart rate increases.

5. Sweating:
Sweat due to attack is a counter effect of the attackas the body gets into so much stress during the attack that it begins to sweat out and relief itself.

6. Trembling & shaking:
When the attack comes due to a fear or shock the mind feels a terror which leads to shivering and trembling.

7. Chest pain or discomfort:-
Experienced there is a sudden sharp pain in the chest.Also known as angina and this pain should not be neglected as it isalso a symptom of heart attack.

8. Nausea:
There is a feeling of discomfort in the upper stomach and there is an urge to vomit. Thus during panic attack this kind of symptoms prevails.
